Hi, I'm Nikki

Hi, and thanks for stopping by my site.

I am so glad you are here.

My Mom was a sewist.  She would make me dresses and skirts.  I also watched her sew our school clothes and I watched her create one of my sister's full school wardrobes for a new school year.  I was never interested in sewing.  I watched her sew but I never gravitated toward sewing as a hobby.

Once I graduated from high school, I moved to Atlanta to attend college and remained there for 20 years.  I had several friends who were sewist and that is where I would go to get clothes that fit my body like a glove.  I have always been a curvy girl and let's be clear I love and have always loved my curves.  Once I realized I had to have a serious relationship with a sewist and a tailor, life changed for me.   Fit issues became a thing of the past.  When I relocated bask to the Northeast, I was back to store shopping and I hated it!  Even with that change, I never thought about learning to sew.

I set an intention for the 2020 New Year and promised myself that I would make this year all about me.  Little did I know that a Pandemic would take place and allow me more time than I could imagine to sew and learn all that I needed to know about this craft.  I set up an Instagram page for my sewing and connected with so many beautiful people and learned so much.

I have accomplished a lot in my first year of sewing. Probably one of my highlights was being a guest Editor on SEW OVER 50.  It boosted my confidence and once again allowed me to connect with the amazing sewing community.  In my first year, I also had the pleasure of testing patterns for different companies!  This journey has been amazing.

I started this BLOG to be able to highlight my journey, connect with other creatives, and for collaborating! So let's connect and work together!
